The conservatory, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

The Conservatory of Flowers was a product of the rationalistic era, to get people closer to nature but with exotic and rare plants. The “carpet bedding” of flowering seen in the front of the picture, had increased popularity in the rationalistic period. Similar to how Encanto Park attracts visitors with exotic plants.
